With 1.5 million cheerleaders in the only U.S. division All-Star and not counting the millions of other divisions in specific schools in the country, this activity has become over the years a key link in the culture and American sports. With its growing popularity, the sport extends internationally with an estimated 100 000 pom-pom girls present in other countries like Germany, Australia, China, Colombia, France, Japan, New Zealand or the Netherlands.
