Ana Ivanović, born in Belgrade, 6 November 1987, is a Serbian tennis player, professional since 2003.
Currently ranked eighth in the world, she was No. 1 for twelve weeks, accessing this site June 9, 2008. She has to her credit eight WTA titles, including the 2008 Grand Slam at Roland Garros. She was also a finalist in the Australian Open this year. Rewarded for being the player to have made the most progress in 2007, and named Player of the Year 2008, it is considered one of the best current players on the WTA Tour.
Ana Ivanović was born in Belgrade, 6 November 1987 in a Serbian family. Her mother, Dragana, a lawyer, attends all the games of his daughter. Ana's father, Miroslav, is an independent businessman, attending as many events as possible. Ana has a younger brother Miloš, with whom she enjoys playing basketball, and other hobbies include shopping, watching movies and playing sudoku. Ivanović's uncle is a former football player. One of her uncles lives in Melbourne, Australia.
Ana's friends with her former doubles partner Maria Kirilenko, as well as other professional tennis players Daniela Hantuchova, Svetlana Kuznetsova, Sanja Ancic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Tatiana Golovin Novak Djokovic (whom she has known the age of 5 years) and Janko Tipsarevic. Similarly, Adam Scott with her friend she met through their common sponsor Rolex.
In fall 2008, she confirmed that she had an affair with the English tennis player Fernando Verdasco. They separated during the tournament in Brisbane in January 2009.
Ivanović finance his studies at a university Belgrade, and English una occupies much of his free time. She speaks English, English and Serbian. It was inspired by Monica Seles and she also admires Roger Federer. It is interesting to note that Ana Ivanović learned to play tennis in an Olympic pool.
On September 14, 2007, Ivanović has become a UNICEF National Ambassadors for Serbia, alongside Aleksandar Đorđević and Emir Kusturica. She has a particular interest in the fields of education and child protection. Ivanović visited a primary school in Serbia during her inauguration and said: "I am also looking forward to going to class and meet with many children."
Ivanovic is a fan of all sport clubs competing under the name of Partizan Belgrade.
